It depends on how you are enrolled in the program:
- If you have enrolled through your vehicle: WeaveGrid must first detect at least one at-home charging session that increases your battery’s state of charge (SOC) by at least 15% (based on a 240V outlet). This usually takes 60-90 minutes of continuous charging.
- If you enrolled through your home charging station: WeaveGrid needs to see at least one prior charging session of 30 minutes or more that added at least 0.5 kWh of energy.
Once the initial session is detected, WeaveGrid will begin setting your smart charging schedule, typically within 15 minutes of plugging in each day.
WeaveGrid then learns from your last 8 charging sessions to better estimate your daily mileage needs.

Note: You may notice a brief period of charging activity each time you plug in, while your optimal schedule is being determined.
